They’re talking serious Summer Holiday Nostalgia along the beachfront here, courtesy of the Brooms Head Holiday Park. They're talking melting ice creams, barbecues, the smell of sunblock, and someone listening to the Boxing Day Test on a crackly transistor radio. Lillee and Thommo taking the Poms apart.

They're talking generations of families booking the same spot under the Norfolk Pines.

Enough nostalgia! Out off Brooms Head itself, a broad sweep of boulders has formed a safe, protected tidal pool between the boulders and the beach, which makes it nice and mellow for families.

The holiday park and camping reserve is fronted by a low seawall that certainly earns its keep every high tide.

For more beach, and more oceanic energy, you’ll want to be a little north of the Holiday Park.

Actually when driving into Brooms Head, as you slow down to 50 and cross the ripper little bridge that crosses the Cakora estuary, you’ll get a good look at the beach as it stretches up to Red Cliff. It’s hard not to jump out then and there.

Main Beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer holidays and as you’d expect there’s good beachside amenities.
