Customising the Clarence - Yamba Fishing and Charters
Customising the Clarence, one experience at a time!
I’m keen to show the kids how real fishing is done
There’s nothing quite like the expression of pure joy and pride that crosses a child’s face when they reel in their first fish.
And it’s a memory that will stick with them, kind of like riding a bike for the first time.
But a full day of fishing might be a bit much, which is why the half day charter makes for a perfect family-friendly outing. And don’t worry if you or someone else in the family has never caught a fish before, skipper Glynn is happy to cater to everybody’s level of experience.
Just bring your lunch and he’ll do the rest – including cleaning any fish you bring back to shore at the end of the charter. All you need to do is take it home and cook it. How easy is that?
Half day tour: 6 hours, $150 per person
I’m an eager angler ready to reel in another trophy fish
Mulloway, wahoo, snapper or marlin – it doesn’t matter what you’re chasing, if the game fish are biting, Yamba Fishing and Charters will help you bring them in.
To maximise your chances of landing the ultimate catch, it’s best to spend the whole day at sea on a full day charter. The 9.5m Noosacat is a comfortable ride, kitted out with heavy duty rods and reels fitted with braid line for your use.
The skipper, Glynn, has been navigating the waters of Yamba, Evans Head and Wooli areas for more than a decade and knows the area better than the back of his hand. And that means he knows where the fish are too.
He’ll also back up your story about ‘the one that got away’.
Full day tour: 9 hours, $1600 for exclusive use of vessel, up to 9 people
Half day tour: 6 hours, $1200 for exclusive use of vessel, up to 9 people
I just want to see what the Clarence Valley coastline has to offer.
If dangling a line isn’t your idea of a good time, there is another BIG reason to be out on the water that will make it worth your whale; whoops, we mean while.
The NSW humpback and southern right whale migration runs from May-November each year, and Yamba Fishing and Charters can help you get close to these magnificent creatures as they make their way to and from their breeding grounds.
While you’re waiting for them to appear from the depths, you can always krill time by searching for dolphins and other abundant aquatic life, or taking in the beautiful coastline scenery.
Sounds like a whale of a time to us! (Too much?)
Whale watching tour: 2 hours, $70

Make sure you’ve got the camera charged for evidence of your best catch, and don’t forget to slip, slop, slap. You might also want to talk to a pharmacist about sea sickness before your trip.
