2026 Aboriginal Elders Olympics- Yamba

The 24th Annual Aboriginal Elders Olympics is back in 2026, and this year it’s happening on Yaegl Country at the Raymond Laurie Sports Centre in Yamba, Northern NSW. Proudly supported by NSW Aboriginal Land Council, Biirrinba Aboriginal Corporation, the Elders Olympics brings more than 400 Aboriginal Elders from communities across NSW together for two days of friendly competition, community connection and cultural celebration.

The day kicks off at 9am with a vibrant parade of teams circling the grounds, setting the tone for a celebration filled with laughter, encouragement and friendly competition. From there, teams will rotate through a series of classic activities including netball hoops, egg and spoon race, hockey stick bends, football toss, ball bounce, kick ball, putt putt and quoits.

More than just a sporting event, the Aboriginal Elders Olympics is a celebration of strength, resilience and culture, honouring Elders while creating space for connection across communities.

Come along, cheer on the Elders and be part of a day that brings people together in the best possible way.
